Hello and welcome to Medics Direct. I am Dr. Kate Goldie. When I started my Medical Cosmetics career several years ago I met a lot of people who trained in these treatments but didn't actually go on to have a successful practice. Without clinical or business support or the back-up of peers and colleagues, they found themselves isolated in a competitive industry. That's when I started Medics Direct.
Medics Direct is set up to give you the highest level of training and to give you the clinical and business support needed to launch a successful and flourishing medical cosmetics career. Not only that, you become part of a network of over 200 practitioners, sharing knowledge, experience and ideas. Dr. Kate Goldie, MBChB, BACD
Internationally reknowned and respected in the medical aesthetics industry, Dr. Kate Goldie is our founder and Clinical Director. A graduate of Edinburgh University Medical School, Dr. Goldie has developed her Medical Cosmetics practice over several years and is an associate member of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors. Dr. Goldie regularly delivers lectures and training to leading practitioners around the world and heads up a network of over 500 aesthetic practitioners in the UK. Always at the forefront of aesthetics training, she has brought cutting edge techniques to the UK.

Dr. Heather Muir, BDS
With 9 years in aesthetics practice, Heather offers a wealth of experience and expertise to our training faculty. Heather opened her own cosmetic dentistry clinic in 2003 where her interest in this area developed into a passion for facial aesthetics. She joined us as a trainer and advisor in 2007, developing and teaching our advanced aesthetics courses.

Dr. Ciaran Cosgrove, MB, BCh, BaO, MRCP, MFSEM, MSc (SEM), DIP(SEM)
Ciaran is a highly valued member of the Medics Direct team, as a principal trainer and key practitioner advisor. Ciaran is a mine of knowledge and support for our practitioners, both at the training courses and beyond. His depth of expertise coupled with his natural flair for teaching and building confidence in our delegates made him an obvious choice for Medics Direct.

Leona Dorward, RGN
Our Head Aesthetic Nurse Trainer, Leona Dorward, is a highly successful advanced practitioner with her own clinic in Edinburgh. Leona has taught Doctors, Surgeons, Dentists and Nurses from all over the world in Foundation and Advanced aesthetics procedures. Leona delivers advanced and foundation courses as well as mentorship and advice to all of our practitioners following the courses. She is an invaluable member of the team as an experienced and respected trainer and practitioner.

Carolyn Busfield, SRN, SCM, RMN, Independent and Supplementary Nurse Prescriber
Carolyn has been a registered nurse for 20 years, fully qualified in midwifery, mental health nursing and practice nursing. An Aesthetic Practitioner for the last 6 years, Carolyn has built up a flourishing medical aesthetics practice, covering Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Carolyn has an ENB998 qualification in 'Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice' and is an Independent and Supplementary Nurse prescriber. She delivers our aesthetics training courses throughout the UK and trains and assesses other trainers.

Sharon Stanley, MSc, BSc (hons), Pg Cert (ed), Dip He, RGN, EN, DON, Independent Nurse Prescriber
Sharon is an RGN and an Independent and Supplementary Prescriber with a Masters degree in Advanced Health Care Practice. She is a fully qualified trainer with a PG Cert (Ed) in Clinical Skills and is an honorary lecturer at Plymouth University. Sharon teaches both foundation and advanced courses.

Paula Lazenby, RGN, RN
Paula has been a registered nurse for 25 years and originally began her aesthetics practice with Medics Direct. A role model for many nurses in the aesthetics field, Paula has used her clinical training and business acumen to grow her aesthetics business at an impressive rate. Paula delivers our training in Chemical Peels and Business Development throughout the UK.
